FINISHES

Marble is one of the most suitable stones for both interior and exterior because it maintains its beauty and texture no matter what the conditions. However, it is necessary to treat the marble surface in order to protect it. There are a few different options, including:
• Polished Marble - for a high gloss reflective surface. Polish brings out the colours in the marble. Usually not recommended as external marble flooring due to their tendency to be sleppery when wet.
• Honed Marble - for a smooth matte to light sheen finish. Commonly used for internal floors and kitchen countertops.
• Brushed Marble - for a natural, textured, rustic kind of look. This is a popular finish used for outdoor areas but able to be used indoors.
• Tumbled Marble – for a worn kind of look. This has a rough texture which makes marble less sensitive to scratches.
Sandblasted Marble - for a rough texture. This creates a slip-resistant surface suitable for outdoors and bathrooms.

To maintain its desirable qualities, it’s essential to reseal marble when it’s first installed and then once each year to maintain protective barrier.
Marble care and maintenance involve regularly cleaning. Avoid using acidic cleaners and cleaners with vinegar or lemon. These could etch and stain the marble surfaces.
